How to Apply

1. Eligible candidates are required to register themselves on the National ApprenticeshipTraining Scheme (NATS) web portal ( Further, they have to apply in web application form available at official portal of WCL ( ) on or before last date of submission. No other mode of application would be accepted. No application shall be accepted after due date.
2. Candidate has a choice to select an area of WCL for training but does not have any Right.

1. Candidates are requested to read the Advertisement carefully and then Apply online.
2. Applicants are NOT ELIGIBLE in any one of the case below :
a. Who have passed qualifying examination before 30/06/2017. (Or)
b. Who have undertaken any previous training as a part of the apprenticeship programme (except as Sandwich student). (Or)
c. Who have undergoing presently Apprenticeship Training at any establishment. (Or)
d. Who have in the employment elsewhere (Or)
e. Who is undergoing any Regular Course of study as regular candidate from any Educational Institute. (Or)  
f. Who have been provided with One Year’s Practical Training after completing qualifying examination i.e. (Degree/Diploma) in any mine.

3. An apprentice shall be entitled to such holidays as are observed in Units of WCL as per its holiday list. Beside this, they will be extended with the following leaves: Casual Leave of 12 days & Medical Leave of 12 days per year on pro-rata basis and at the discretion of the appropriate authority will be admissible to the apprentices.
4. The eligible candidates are required to mention the Total Marks and Marks obtained in the qualifying examination throughout the semesters in Degree / Diploma. In case semester results are declared in Grade Point Average, then Total Marks and Marks Obtained shall be converted and provided as per norms of the Institute /University. Documents in this regards should have to be provided by the candidate. 
5. Before applying in WCL website, the candidate should ensure that he fulfils the eligibility criteria and other norms mentioned in the advertisement and has enrolled in NATS.
6. Date of Birth will be taken as that mentioned in the Certificate of class X” /XII” or equivalent examination. No other proof of date of birth shall be accepted.
7. Having successful submission of registration on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) web portal ( and on WCL website ( does not entitle one to be eligible to appear for document verification process or any subsequent step(s).  
8. Verification of credentials shall be done prior to final selection and in case any deviation or non- conformity with the desired eligibility criteria, the candidature of the candidate shall be summarily rejected.  
9. The eligible candidates shall be called for document verification. The venue, date and time for the same Shall be intimated accordingly.
10. No TA / DA will be paid to applicants called for document verification process and for any stage of engagement process as Apprentice.
11. Each candidate shall have to undergo Medical Examination before engagement as Apprentice.  
12. Furnishing wrong / false / incomplete information will lead to disqualification and the WCL will not be responsible for any consequence arising out of furnishing such wrong/ false information by the candidate.
13.  Candidate who had undergone or is undergoing Apprenticeship or is presently in employment after acquiring qualification shall not be eligible for being engaged as Graduate or Technician Apprentice.
14. WCL does not give any commitment/ assurance on providing permanent / temporary employment to Apprentices on successful completion of Apprenticeship period.
